Route to and from Atlanta
The usual route from Atlanta is I-75 south to Macon, then I-16 east to Savannah, about 250 miles or roughly 4 hours in the truck with no traffic. I-95 runs north and south on the west side of town for Pooler and Richmond Hill. Port truck traffic around I-16 and GA-21 can be heavy.
Buildings, HOAs, and move-day tips
Downtown Historic District streets are narrow, with squares, tight turns, and lots of metered parking, so a 26' truck needs a planned spot. Ask us about city parking rules for a moving truck. Many older homes have tall front stoops and narrow stairs. Allow extra time in summer heat and during hurricane-season storms.
